Bio

Heather was born and raised in Houston, Texas. From an early age, you could find her singing in her church choir and performing for her family. She was thrilled to be accepted into the Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where she studied Classical Voice. Her years there cultivated her love for the arts, leading her to pursue a career in music.

Another major influence on Miss Harris's early life was her involvement in the Miss America Organization.  Through much hard work and determination, she became Miss Teen Texas 2005. This experience paved the way for more performance opportunities nationwide, further solidifying her passion to perform.

Heather also loves philanthropy and helping others in need. She created an implemented a youth development program called "Speak Up, I'll Listen - Educating children and teachers alike on the tools to overcome bully harassment.  Her program has grown over the years, opening opportunities to help pass cyberbullying laws, be a certified mentor, pageant consultant, and vocal coach. Heather was appointed Legislation of Liasion of the Jared Story Campaign and appointed the Barack Obama Gold Level community service award.

Heather earned her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University, under the tutelage of the famed voice professor, Florence Birdwell.  Mrs. Birdwell taught Broadway veterans Kelli O'Hara, Kristen Chenoweth, and many others.

OCU allowed Heather to experience the best of both worlds; she remained active in the Miss America Organization while studying music.  She was crowned Miss Oklahoma City University in 2009 which provided the necessary scholarship for her to pursue her Master's degree. Heather received her M.M. in Music Theater from Oklahoma City Unversity.

Since graduation, Heather has worked in regional theatres across the U.S. and most recently returned to American soil after 3 years of performing in Europe. She visited over 25 European countries with Viking Ocean Cruise Line and later traveled through greater Germany as a free hippie with the European Tour of Hair das Musical. Her Euro experience allowed her the opportunities to perform several types of music including an array of shows, cabarets, opera and contemporary material.  She is proud to be currently performing with the USO Show Troupe Organization of NYC Inc. A New York girl, she is busy auditioning, taking classes, and loving her new life in her dream city.
